Boeing still expects to build 10 787s a month in 2013

Boeing expects to deliver about 12 to 20 787 Dreamliners and a similar number of 747-8s this year, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Jim McNerney said Wednesday.

The company is building two 787s a month now and expects to deliver the first 787 to launch customer All Nippon Airways in the third quarter. That's three years after originally planned and two quarters after the plan before a fire aboard the second flight-test 787 in November grounded the fleet temporarily and necessitated changes to the aircraft.

The latest delivery delay includes a cushion measured in weeks, rather than days or months, McNerney said in the company's call to discuss quarterly and full-year 2010 earnings.

The latest delay has not pushed back Boeing's expected production ramp up past the previously announced goal of......
