Aircraft deliveries to accelerate in 2011. Led by Ryanair, Air China and Turkish Airlines

Aircraft deliveries are set to accelerate in 2011, with more than 1,400 aircraft scheduled for delivery this year, up from 1213 in 2010. Fleet expansion will be led by Ryanair, Air China and Turkish Airlines, all of which will take delivery of more than 30 aircraft by the end of 2011, based on Ascend data. Asian carriers will take delivery of the most aircraft of any region, as was the case in 2010, followed closely by Europe. LCCs and carriers in emerging markets are driving the expansion trend.

LAN and TAM do not expect changes to aircraft orders

LAN and TAM do not expect any changes in their fleets or order books but anticipate their planned merger could lead to some new orders.

LAN Details 787 Deliveries, Drops Four 767s

LAN Airlines confirms it will not be adding four Boeing 767-300ERs ordered in 2008 as a stopgap for delayed 787s.
The carrier placed the order when delays to the Boeing 787 program pushed its delivery slots into 2014. However, last month LAN announced a deal with the U.S. airframer that gave the South American operator 10 delivery slots from the first half of 2011 through 2013 (DAILY, March 26).

Sources: LAN set to take early 787 slots

Santiago-based carrier LAN is set to make a major acceleration in its delivery of its first Boeing 787 after a slot swap with Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA), say sources close to the Latin American carrier and the US airframer.
