LAN Airlines confirms it will not be adding four Boeing 767-300ERs ordered in 2008 as a stopgap for delayed 787s.
The carrier placed the order when delays to the Boeing 787 program pushed its delivery slots into 2014. However, last month LAN announced a deal with the U.S. airframer that gave the South American operator 10 delivery slots from the first half of 2011 through 2013 (DAILY, March 26).
At the time, neither the carrier nor Boeing would comment on the 767s scheduled for 2012, but in a new fleet plan issued as part of its first-quarter results LAN indicates it will operate......
