As with every generation of airplane, the 767 has brought many firsts for the industry – with no clear direction on the eventual tanker winner, the airplane has had a great innings.
Were it not for the delays on the 787, the 767 probably would have been wound up a lot sooner.
There’s no denying that the program, which is approaching the end of its life, has been a success for Boeing and it is a shame that the same production ethos has not been executed on the even more popular 787.
