Airbus has completed its market study into re-engining A320 family aircraft and New York-based Bernstein Research said it expects the manufacturer to move ahead with the program.
Bernstein reported that customers generally have a positive view of a re-engined A320 with 15% better fuel burn. It added that Airbus sees no technologies, other than the engine, that would provide a step function improvement in narrowbody performance in this decade.
