Airbus NEO nears

EADS CEO Louis Gallois said the decision by Airbus on whether to upgrade the A320 family depends on the availability of engineering capacity, rather than the cost of the program. An upgraded A320 with new engines is expected to deliver a 12-15% reduction in fuel burn. Mr Gallois confirmed Airbus is not considering developing a new plane.

"This is about the question whether we can manage that with our engineering capacity. We believe that we can reduce fuel consumption by 12 to 15% with new engines and new wing tips. A completely new plane could gain a few more percent, but the development is......
