THAI borrowing B20bn for new plane acquisitions

Thai Airways International is securing 20 billion baht in fresh credit from four Thai banks to raise funds especially for new aircraft payments.

The SET-listed flag carrier's board yesterday approved four borrowing agreements as THAI proceeds with a 15-billion-baht recapitalisation with new share offerings and a planned debenture issue.THAI only recently secured a loan of 8 billion baht from Siam Commercial Bank at terms that president Piyasvasti Amranand described as very good.
