AF/KLM Group requested a new model of the A320 that weighs less with changes made to the aircraft's wings according to a Bloomberg report. Director, Fleet Development, Pierre Vellay, says the group is opposed to any changes to the engine of the aircraft.
This is really interesting. AF/KLM is a big CFM customer and that would explain its view on the engine.
