Demand for civilian aircraft seen taking off

Hyderabad: The civil aviation sector could absorb about 250 aircraft in next three years, if the potential for regional airlines is properly harnessed, according to Dr A. R. Upadhya, Director, National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore.

Speaking at the ongoing ‘Aviation Conclave 2010,' organised by the Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) here on Saturday, Dr Upadhya said there was an increase in demand for civilian aircraft.
In the Defence sector, he felt there was a requirement for about 150 combat aircraft.
