In May, Airbus increased its lead over Boeing in delivered aircraft so far this year by 14. The European manufacturer has delivered 205 aircraft against Boeing’s 179. Of the two A380s delivered, it was a first for Lufthansa, which used the aircraft to fly the German national football team to the World Cup in South Africa. The other A380 went to Emirates, whose appetite for more of the aircraft type has been much publicised.
