Qatar Airways in Talks With Bombardier for 20-30 Jets

May 4 (Bloomberg) -- Qatar Airways, a state-owned carrier, is in talks with Bombardier Inc. to buy as many as 30 planes and will buy six 787 Dreamliners from Boeing Co., Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said.

“We’re in talks with Bombardier for 20 to 30” planes, Al Baker told reporters at a news conference in Dubai today. The company hopes to conclude a deal before the Farnborough International Airshow in July, the CEO said. Qatar Airways also increased its order with Boeing to six 787 Dreamliners from the original two.
