Boeing Deliveries Stymied As Orders

Seat supplier “production challenges” caused Boeing to deliver 13 fewer airplanes in the first quarter of 2010 than the same period a year earlier, but backlog held steady as orders began to rebound from a horrendous 2009.
Boeing delivered 108 commercial airplanes during the quarter, down from 121 a year earlier. That led to a 13% decline in revenues in the company’s Commercial Airplanes unit, to $7.5 billion. Operating profit, however, increased 63%, to $679 million as profit margins nearly doubled.
