Europe Deal of the Year --- CDB loans $358 million to AerCap
AerCap has had a busy year acquiring another aircraft leasing company, Genesis Lease, and signing on a new equity partner for AerVenture. But it was a $358 million loan from China Development Bank that has prepared the company well for the future.
It was strategic to cultivate a relationship with a Chinese bank as the company sought additional capital. "We're working with a Chinese bank, which is a significant strategic step forward for us," says Paul Rofe, group treasurer, AerCap.
